amniocentesis is the process of taking out amnion fluid in some amount from the amniotic chamber to determine various genetic problems in the embryo or foetus.
this method is banned in India because people use it in the process of sex determination which increases the rate of female foeticide.
☺️hope it helps☺️

Amniocentesis is procedure that removes the small amount of amniotic fluid from the sac surrounding the fetus.
the main reason for banning amniocentesis is Sex ratio of India is dwindling, and so all measures are in place to curb sex selection before birth. ... So there you have it.. karyotyping without prenatal sex determination.
