Amoebic dysentery or Amoebiasis is caused by Entamoeba histolytica. This disease is transmitted by uncooked food, unhygienic food preparation. The symptoms include diarrhoea with loss of blood in stools, fever, nausea and vomiting, this disease can lead to death. It can be controlled by hygienic food handling and preparation. Metronidazole drug can be used to kill the parasite.
