The Animals which can live both in Water and Land are Called as Amphibian. The Characteristics of The Class Amphibia is -

Their Body is Covered with Mucus and Have 3 Chamber of Heart. They lay their Eggs on water. They have either Gills or Lungs for Respiration Common Examples of these class is Toad, Salamander

The word amphibian means two-lives.  Amphibians spend their lives in the water and on land.
