This question refers to the chapter ‘Mrs Packletide’s Tiger’ where a British Lady wants to hunt down a tiger so that she can become famous.
The amusing part of the villagers’ behaviour is how they succumb to arranging a kind of drama for the tiger to get hunted, for sum money.
When the tiger dies on its own and the goat used as a prey for the tiger is killed by Mrs Packletide they are least affected.
They just want their money.
