An algebraic equation is an equality involving variables, where the expression on the left hand side (LHS) is equal to the expression on the right hand side (RHS).

Examples : 2x - 3 =0 ; 5y =10 ; 2x + 4y = 9; x + 4y + 3z =20

All the equations in the example are linear with either one,two or three variables.

Different types of algebraic equations :

1. Linear equation

2. Quadratic equation

3. Trigonometric equation

4. Exponential equation

5. Rational equation
