Alloy is a scientific mixture of multiple metals which we use for different purposes.

Alloys are often better than the pure metals , because;

1)Alloys are more physically durable than the pure metal.

2) Alloys are also less reactive with the environment which increase the life span.

3) Alloys also have better physical and chemical characteristics than the pure metal.

And many more.

Explanation:

  • An alloy is one of the metal which has combined of many other substances that resulting in many superior properties.
  • Such as strength, tensile strength, durability, hardness, ductility and toughness.
  • Sometimes alloys are described as the mixture of “two or more metals”. And sometimes metals are combines with non- metals.

For Example:

  • Mild steel - It consists “99.9- 99.7%” of iron and “0.1 to 0.3%” other metals.
  • Cast iron - It is alloy of iron, it consists of iron metal and carbon nonmetal.
