An alloy is a homogenous mixture of two or more metals or a metal and nonmetal.

It is prepared by mixing the metals in molten form and then cooling the mixture.

The electrical conductivity and melting point of an alloy is less than that of pure metals.

Brass an alloy of Copper and Tin is not a good conductor of electricity where is copper is used for making electrical circuits.

If an alloy contains mercury as one of its components, it is called amalgam, e.g. sodium-amalgam , silver - amalgam etc.

I hope this helps u dear friend
