■ A colloid is a homogenous looking heterogenous mixture
■ Whose particles size is bigger than that of a true solution
■ But yet not big enough to be seen through naked eyes.
■ They shows tyndell effect
■ They are stable, means solute particles can't be seperated from solvent by filter paper.
Example :-
● Blood
● Milk etc.
A Colloid is divided onto
Dispersed phase ( solute ) and dispersed medium ( solvent )
When water is mixed in gas then it form Aerosol. ⏩ Fog and mist
When solid is mixed in gas then its called solid aerosol. ⏩ Smoke
When gas is mixed in liquid then it forms foam.⏩ Cold drinks
When liquid is mixed in liquid its called emulsion.⏩ Facecream
When solid in liquid then its called sol.⏩ Coper sulphate + water
When gas in solid then its called foam.⏩ Sponge
When liquid in a solid is called jel.⏩ Jelly
When solid in solid is called solid sol.⏩ Gems.
Have great future ahead!

Colloidal Solution - A solution in which the size of the solute particles are intermediate between those in true solution and suspension.
For Example - Milk, Blood, Ink and solution etc.
Properties of Colloidal solution -
- A colloid is a heterogeneous mixture but appear as homogeneous.
- They are translucent.
- The particles of colloids are too small to be seen by naked eyes.
- Particle size of colloids are 1-1000 nm.
- Colloids are big enough to scatter a beam of light passing through it and make it's path visible.
- They do not settle down when left undisturbed.
- They cannot be separated by filtration process but can be separated by centrifugation method.
