What is an electric fuse? Briefly describe its functions.

Electric fuse is a device used in the electric circuit to protect the materials which are connected to the circuit from high current flow . High current flow causes short circuiting.
Functions
It protects the material from being damaged.
It protects the home appliances from burning if shirt circuit happens.
