Magnets that are made by using electric current are called electromagnet. An electromagnet is a temporary magnet. When the current is stopped, it stops behaving like a magnet. When the core is removed the coil also behaves like a magnet. This shows the magnetism of electromagnet is due to the current flowing through it.
