Element is the purest form of matter which can't be separated into simpler form by any physical or chemical method

It is of three types:-

1.Metal:Element that forms positive ion easily

Metal properties

These are malleable, ductile, lustrous, sonorous and hard at room temperature

2.Non-Metal:Element which forms negative ion easily by gaining electron

Non-Metal properties

They are not ductile,sonorous,lustrous,malleable,

conductor

3.Metalloids:Element which shows property of both metal as well as Non-Metal

Eg:Sillicon;Bismath
