An equinox refers to the two days in any year when the length of day and night is equal (each is 12 hours long on an equinox) throughout the world, even at the poles.
There occurs Equinoxes twice in a year:
(i)Autumnal Equinox - 23 September
(ii)Vernal Equinox - 20 March
