Respected Ma'am,

I'm Ashish Khurana the General Secretary of the Students' Union of your school. I am writing this letter to you to request for granting a half day holiday on the occasion of Kali Bihu Festival.

As we are aware that after 2 days it is Kali Bihu Festival and we Assamese celebrate it with a big bang. We celebrate it by lighting up our houses and fields with diyas and candles. But as it is not a festival which is celebrated all over the country, the school does not announce a holiday on that day.

So, I want you to please grant me a half-day holiday on this occasion.
