Option C is the correct answer.

c) A series of paragraphs about one main idea or point. It generally has three paragraphs.

An essay is a series or collection of paragraphs that have one central idea or problem that it talks about or portrays.

The first paragraph of a good essay should introduce us, that is the audience, to the central theme or idea of the essay.

In the second, third, and up until the penultimate paragraph, the essay should take us deeper into the idea, describe it, its problems (if any), the current situation, the different ways to solve it, and futureproofing it (if required).

The last paragraph should have closing comments, the solution chosen, and why it is the best solution out of all the available ones.
