Histogram is approximate representation of distribution of numerical data
Histogram is the distribution of data while bar graph is used to compare data

Main difference between bar diagram and histogram:

Bar diagram:

  • It's 1 Dimensional
  • Only length of bars is considered while comparison
  • Width between 2 bars is always kept the same
  • Width between a single bar is always equal

Histogram:

  • It's 2 Dimensional
  • Height and width of bars both are considered while comparison
  • There no width between two bars.
  • The width between a single bar depends on the range of class interval.
