Idiom is a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g. over the moon, see the light ). It is an expression whose meaning is not predictable from the usual meanings of its constituent elements, as kick the bucket which is considered as a slang term meaning "to die". Its origin remains unclear, though there have been several theories.
