Industrial society is defined as the type of society in which mass production is done in industries to support the working population. And, major population of the country is indulged in workforce as labours in industries.

EXPLANATION:

  • The society in sociological studies is classified into several categories like the agrarian society, industrial society, etc. The agrarian society is one in which a family owns a small piece of land and most of their income and other activities are related to agriculture.
  • But, industrial society is one in which large scale industries are set up and most of the work is done by the machines but, it also employs large groups of laborers. Instead of small scale production like in agrarian society, they emphasize on mass production and increased use of machinery instead of labour force.
  • It is a more advanced stage of society as compared to agrarian societies and leads to urbanization and industrialization of prevalent societies.
