What is an inelastic collision? In which it is different from elastic collision. Mention some examples in day to day life for inelastic collision

Collision in which all the elastic potential energy is not converted to K.E.(law of conservation of energy is not applicable here)

Some energy is lost in the envt. as heat sound etc.

While in elastic collision all elastic potential energy is conserved .

(I.e. you can apply law of conservation of energy here)
