Olfactory indicator and its examples:

• An Olfactory indicator is a material whose smell varies reliant on whether it is mixed with an acidic or basic solution.

• Olfactory indicators mainly used in the laboratory to test whether a solution is a base or an acid.

• Onion, clove oil and vanilla extract are examples of some olfactory indicators.
