all factory indicator is a substance which define acid or base on the basis of its smell. the indicator process is continued through olfactory titration .

example are clove and vanilla..

Those substance whose smell ( or odour )changes in acidic or basic solution are called olfactory indicators.
Onion and vanilla.
Because it is the effects of onion olfactory indicators the onion smell cannot be detected does not destroy the smell of onion.
vanilla we cannot detect the smell of vanilla extract.
