Anaerobic Respiration :-

When breakdown of food occurs in the absence of oxygen, it is called anaerobic respiration. In anaerobic respiration, incomplete oxidation of food occur. The energy released is very less as compared to aerobic respiration. The products formed are alcohol and carbon dioxide.

Anaerobic respiration can be represented as:

⠀⠀⠀⠀Without oxygen

Glucose (food) → Alcohol + carbon dioxide + energy

Aerobic Respiration :- Respiration which occurs in the presence of oxygen.
