■ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION ■
1.》Oxidation of food material in the absence of oxygen is known as ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION.
2.》Incomplete oxidation of glucose molecules takes place.
3.》The whole process is completed in cytoplasm.
4.》2ATP molecules are formed.
5.》By incomplete oxidation of one molecule of glucose 21 kcal of energy is released.
6.》This process can be represented as:
C6H12O6->2C2H5OH+2CO2+21kcal.
7.》It occurs in yeasts and also in humans when there is lack of supply of adequate amount of oxygen.
