Anemophily or wind pollination is a form of pollination whereby pollen is distributed by wind.[1] Almost all gymnosperms are anemophilous, as are many plants in the order Poales, including grasses, sedges and rushes.[1] Other common anemophilous plants are oaks, sweet chestnuts, alders and members of the family Juglandaceae (hickory or walnut family).

When pollen grains are transferred from one flower to another flower through wind then it is called anemophily and flowers are called anemophilus flower.
The anemophilus plants produce enormous amount of pollen grains.
The pollen grains are very small, light weight, and dry(non sticky) and their stigma is large hairy or feathery or bushy and mucilagenous(sticky).
Anemophilus flowers are neither attractive nor with fragrance. They do nat have nectar glands. Anemophilus flower are generally bisexual.
It is quite common in grasses.
Examples: gymnosperm, maize, sugarcane, bamboo, coconut, cannabis, date palm, papaya, mulberry.
