Angiosperm:- They are very large group of plants and occur in wide range of habitats.

Angiosperms are of two types-:

(i) Monocotyledon:- Those which have only one cotyledon are known as Monocotyledon plants.

Example:- Grass and cerals.

(ii) Dicotyledons:- Those which have two cotyledons are known as Dicotyledon angiosperms.

Example:- Pulses

Some points related with angiosperms are as follows:-

In them anther and filament forms stamen or the male sex organ.

After the process of meiosis pollen grains are formed in the anther.

And then pollen grains are carried to the stigma with help of wind or with any other natural process.

Ovary, stigma and style forms female sex organ in them.

One or more than one ovules are produced in the ovary.

Nucellus is the diploid tissue which forms body of the ovule.

Wolfia is the smallest angiosperm while Eucalyptus is the largest tree.

All the organisms on the earth and divided into five kingdoms on the basis of the cell type , number of cells , cell structure , mode of nutrition and body organisation.

On this basis the five kingdoms formed are :

• Monera
• Protista
• Fungi
• Animalea
• Plantae

Each kingdom is further divided into further groups as In the attachment 1.

Accordingly the Further divisions of Kingdom Plantae is in the attachment 2.

PLANTAE has a division called Angiosperms .

The characteristics of Angiosperms is :

• Have differentiated plant body

• Show vascular tissues

• Produce seeds

• Seeds are present inside Fruit

Some more characteristics of Angiosperms :

• Seeds are found inside fruits.

• Embryo is formed inside Cotelydons. The seed leaves then become green .

• They are flowering plants

• Eg : Rose , Tomato , Dandelions , Vegetables , Fruits.

• If it has 1 cotelydon - Monocot

• If it has 2 cotelydons - Dicot
