ANGLE OF CONTACT--The angle which the tangent make to the free surface of the liquid at the point of contact with the walls of the vessel inside the liquid is called the angle of contact.

CAPILLARITY-The tendency of a liquid in a capillary tube or absorbent material to rise or fall as a result of surface tension

EXAMPLE OF CAPILLARITY---

1.Heat pipe with longitudinal capillary structure

2.Supply of coolant

3.Electric contact using porous solid

4.Fluid distribution via capillaries.

When a liquid is in contact with solid, angle between solid surface and the tangent to the free surface of liquid at that point of contact, measured from inside the liquid is known as angle of contact.

A phenomenon in which the surface of a liquid is observed to be elevated or depressed where it comes into contact with a solid. For example, the surface of water in a clean drinking glass is seen to be slightly higher at the edges, where it contacts the glass, than in the middle.
