ANNELIDA:-The annelids, also known as the ringed worms or segmented worms, are a large phylum, with over 22,000 extant species including ragworms, earthworms, and leeches.

CHARACTERISTICS :-

1)They are bilaterally symmetrical,soft,elongated,cylindrical,triploblastic,have true body cavity.

2)Due to true body cavity they have extensive organ differentiation.

3)The body is segmented with segments lined up one after the other from head to tail.

ARTHROPODA:-An arthropod is an invertebrate animal having an exoskeleton, a segmented body, and paired jointed appendages.

CHARACTERISTICS :-

1)The body structure shows bilateral symmetry.

2)They are triploblastic.

3 )They can be found in all types of habitats – land, water and soil.

4)They have jointed limbs.

5)The body is segmented into three regions – Head, Thorax and Abdomen.

6)The body cavity is filled with blood and is called the haemocoel. The blood is white in colour.

7)The exoskeleton is hardened and is made of chitin.

8)They have a well-developed central nervous system.

9)The head is well developed and bears the sensory organs and brain.

10)They have compound eyes and mosaic vision.

11)The digestive tract is complete with the mouth and anus at opposite ends of the body.

12)They have an open circulatory system with dorsal heart and arteries.

13)Respiration is through the general body surface or by gills in aquatic forms and through trachea or book lungs in terrestrial forms.

14)Sexes are separate and sexual dimorphism is exhibited.
