An annular eclipse happens when the moon is farthest from Earth. Because the moon is farther away from Earth, it seems smaller and does not block the entire view of the sun.

Annular eclipse is the eclipse of the sun when the moon is in between the earth and the sun but the moon is far away from the earth so it does not cover the earth fully it only covers the center leaving light to be seen at the outer edge of the earth.
