Just remeber this identity

 {x}^{2}  -  {y}^{2}  = (x + y)(x - y)

So now we have

 {(a  +  b)}^{2}  -  {(a -  b)}^{2}

{(a + b) - (a - b)} {(a + b) + (a - b)}

{ a + b - a + b } { a + b + a - b }

{ 2b } { 2a }

4ab

So the answer is 4ab.
