Answer:
a) float
b) bacteria
c) microscope
d) crops
e) yeast
Explanation:
- Damaged seeds float on top of the water because when seeds get partially eaten or damaged by the insects or they are infected by a plant disease, then they become hollow and light and start to float on the water. Whereas healthy seeds being heavier settle down at the bottom.
- The causative microorganism for cholera disease is a bacterium. A bacterium called Vibrio Cholerae causes cholera disease. It is a communicable disease therefore it spreads by food and water.
- Microorganisms are the organisms which are too small to be seen with the naked eye. Therefore we need a microscope with high magnification power to see them. Classifications of microorganisms are: Bacteria, Protozoa, Viruses, Algae and Fungi.
- When the same kinds of plants are grown in the fields on a large scale to obtain food, then it is called as a crop. Crops are of twp types: Rabi and Kharif crops.
- During fermentation process, yeast multiplies in the sugar solution (sugar acts as a food for the yeast) and respires anaerobically. Then the dugar solution gets converted into alcohol and carbon dioxide gas is released during this process.
