Anti defection law:
- Anti-defection law says that a member who is elected for Parliament or legislative assembly (MLA / MP) in an election can not be joined in the other parties.
- This is applicable until the next election is conducted.
- If he/she does that he/she will lose their portion.
- This law was passed in the year of 1985.
- During Rajiv Gandhi as prime minister, this law was included in the Indian Constitution as a part of 10th Schedule.
- This law is in Article 190 of the Constitution.
