Antimatter is defined as matter that is composed of the antiparticles (or "partners") of the corresponding particles of "ordinary" matter.

  • Minuscule numbers of antiparticles are generated daily at particle accelerators—total production has been only a few nanograms (ng)—and in natural processes like cosmic ray collisions and some types of radioactive decay.

It refers to sub atomic particles consisting of contrary properties.

  • It is the polar opposite of ordinary matter. Antimatter subatomic particles have properties that are diametrically opposed to those of normal matter.
  • Its total mass and sub atomic matter particles is almost similar, but their properties, like the electric charge and spin, are not.
  • Today, it is being used in medicine as well to produce high-resolution images of the body.
