an antipode is the point on the Earth directly opposite to where you are positioned!

The name comes from the Greek meaning 'opposite the feet'.

There are a few examples of cities which are exact or almost exact antipodes. These include Christchurch (NZ) and A Coruna (Spain); Hamilton (NZ) and La Quiaca (Argentina); Valdivia (Chile) and Wuhai (China); Palembang (Indonesia) and Esmeraldas (Ecuador) - there are a few more!
