Anus is the end point of the ailmentary canal which helps in the exit of ways material secreted from food to exit. This process is regulated by the anal sphincter.

The food gets eliminated through Anus and the process is called Egestion. Peristalsis gradually pushes the undigested food from small intestine to the large intestine. The remaining material after reabsorption of water and ions is stored in the rectum for sometime and is ultimately removed from the body through anus.
