APARTHIED WAS THE RACIAL DISCRIMMINATION SYSTEM INTRODUCED earlier  BY THE  british in south africa.this system gave priveleges to the whites and discrimminated the blacks and coloureds in south africa.all the toilets, theatres , auditorium ,buildings were seperated for the blacks and whites.the blacks were allowed to enter and work in the areas of whites only if they could have a permit .nelson mandela and eight other leaders protested against this and thats why they were sent to robben island the most dreaded prison .
