what is apimixis and its importance?

its not apimixis,its apomixis. it mean the formation of seed without fertilisation.it mimics sexual reproduction.it can also be called as agamospermy.for example:- citrus,mango.
importance: it plays an important role in hybrid seed production,which gives better yield.like vegetative apomixis in allium cepa,agave etc...
