Apogamy: It is the process in which any haploid cell of female gametophyte except egg cell is subjected to form a haploid embryo without fertilization or In other words it is the process of direct formation of sporophyte from gametophyte without occuring of fertilization process is called apogamy.

Important note about Apogamy:-

If both gametophyte and sporophyte are diploid in parthenogenesis and apogamy then it is called diploid parthenogenesis and diploid apogamy respectively.
