It is the process of Formation of gametophyte directly from sporophyte without meiosis.
Some information about apospory are:-
- It was first found by Rosenberg in Hieracium plant.
- In this method, embryosac or female gametophyte is directly formed from any diploid cell of the sporophyte that means from nucellus or integument without the process of meiosis.
- Megaspore mother cell is a exception of this.
- In this gametophyte always remains diploid such as Rubus, Hieracium & Ranunculus.
