Archimede's principle states that when a body is immersed partially or completely in a liquid , it experiences an upthrust , which is equal to the weight of liquid displaced by it.

Archimedes  principle states that the buoyant force ( buoyant force  is the force applied upward on an object by any fluid)  applied to an object is equal to the weight of the fluid the object displaces.
