when a body is immersed fully or partially in a fluid , it experiments an upwards force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it....

Force of buoyancy acting on a body immersed or completely in a static fluid is numerically equal to weight of the fluid displaced and is directed vertically upwards this is known as Archimedes Principle.
