Arithematic Progression ( AP ) -:

A sequence in which each terms differ from its preceding term by a constant is called arithmatic progression .

constant is called common difference of the AP , it is denoted by D.

For example - 8,11,14,17,20 is an AP , to find first term and the common difference :

a2-a1 ( formula to find D )

11-8 = 3

a3-a2

14-11 = 3

so, 3 is common difference

the first term is 8

its the answer....
