In biology, when the development of a flower is affected for any reason, such as plant disease or due to pollution of the atmosphere etc., it is known as ‘arrested flower development’. The Flower does not grow or develop beyond a certain point.

A flower that does not get pollinated or fertilised by natural or artificial methods is known as a ‘sterile flower’. This could be due to plant disease.

Explanation:

Sterile Flower: th definition of a sterile flower means it cannot get fertilized at any cost and it remains underdevleped because of multiple reasons. the sterile flower consists of colored sepals and they do not produe any reproductive structure of their own. the case of storing pollens is also very low, and it also shows arrested flower development. it is a condition in which the development of the flower stops because of some inherent or internal factors.
