What is Artery ? give me this answer in Explain.
Answers
An artery is a blood vessel that takes blood away from the heart to one or more parts of the body. Most arteries carry oxygenated blood; the two exceptions are the pulmonary and the umbilical arteries, which carry deoxygenated blood to the organs that oxygenate it. The effective arterial blood volume is that extracellular fluid which fills the arterial system.

Answer:-
➥ The blood vessels that carry oxygenated blood away from the heart is called as artery.
Explanation:-
The blood vessels moves through tube - like structures called blood vessels. Blood vessels are of three types :- Arteries, veins and capillaries.
Arteries :- Arteries transport blood from the heart to the organs. They generally carry oxygenated blood (blood which is rich in oxygen) except the pulmonary artery, which carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs. They have thick elastic muscular walls as blood flows through them with high pressure.
Veins:- Veins bring blood to the heart from all parts of the body. They generally carry deoxygenated blood, except the pulmonary vein, which brings oxygenated blood from lungs to the heart. Veins have thicker walls as compared to Arteries.
Capillaries :- When an artery reaches an organ, it splits into smaller vessels called arterioles which further spilt form a network of thin blood vessels called capillaries. They join together to form large vessels which ultimately join to form the veins.
