What is Arthropoda and what is functions.and what do they work.

⚫Arthropods form the largest group of invertebrates .There are more than 90,000 kinds of Arthropods.

⚫They may be aquatic or terrestrial .

⚫Animal have a segmented body divided in varios regions .

⚫In some arthropods (grasshopper , houseflies ,etc) body is divided into three distinct regions : head ,thorax and abdomen .In some arthropods (prawns, crabs ,etc) body is divided into two regions cephalothorax (head and thorax fused) and abdomen.

⚫Most animals have a tough outer covering called exoskeleton made up of chitin.

⚫They have paired jointed appendages.

⚫Body cavity is filled with blood.

⚫Digestive canal is complete, mouth and anus lies at opposite ends of the body.

⚫They have compound eyes and antennae as sensory organs on the head .

⚫The body cavity contains blood and is called haemocoel.

⚫Arthropods can further be divided into four classes :-
1.Crustacea - crabs ,prawns ,etc
2.Myriapoda - centipedes , millipedes
3.Insecta - houseflies ,butterflies ,etc
3.Arachnida - ticks, spiders etc
