It contains multiple numbers of tubes with a semipermeable cover held in suspension in a tank which is filled with a dialyzing fluid.

This fluid has same osmotic pressure as blood, except that it is free of nitrogenous wastes like as urea.

The dialysis machine is termed as an artificial kidney.

It is used when a person's kidney gets damaged.

It is used to separate wastes of blood with dialysis solution.

It works like the kidney.

Process:

The blood of the patient is passed through the tubes immersed in dialysis fluid which are free from nitrogenous matters.

Impurities from the human body such as urea are extracted by dialysis fluid by osmosis.
