What is assertive sentence?

Sentences which make simple assertions or statements are known as assertive sentences.
Eg: The sun rises in the east.
My name is Sriti.
Assertive Sentences are the Sentences which declares something and makes a statement.
Assertive Sentences are also called as Declarative Sentences.
They are the most common type of Sentences.
They end with a Full Stop (.)
Examples :-
• Minal has joined the class yesterday.
• He is my friend.
• Himanshu is the best student.
• Krithika loves to cook.
Sentence is a group of words which are in such order that makes a sense. It mostly contain a Subject and Predicate.
Example :- Minal loves to sing.
Minal is the subject here.
loves to sing is the predicate here.

Declarative/Assertive Sentence :-

Imperative Sentence :-
➛ It is a Sentence which conveys a order, command, wish or request.
Example :-
Please pass the salt.

Interrogative Sentence :-
➛ Yes/no questions
➛ Ends with question mark (?)
➛ Choice questions
➛ Wh Questions - Who ? What ? Why ? etc.
Example :- Why do you hate her ?
Exclamatory Sentence :-
➛ Used for powerful feelings
➛ Conveys emotions
➛ Adds punch to full Writing
➛ Sentences include Exclamatory mark (!)
