Association Neuron is a nerve cell also known an Interneuron/ relay neuron/ associate neuron whose function is to carry impulses from the motor neuron to the Central Nervous System (CNS).

  • Throughout the central nervous system, association neurons are found.
  • Association neuron is actually a nerve cell which is also known as inter-neuron and relay neuron.
  • This neuron is much numerous than motor neuron.
  • From the motor neuron association neuron carries impulses to the Central Nervous system. This is its main function.
