It tells the property of multiplication tells us that we can group numbers in a product in any way we want and still get the same answer...... If ‘a’, ‘b’ & ‘c’ are three rational numbers, then (a Х b) Х c = a Х (b Х c) Hope this helps.....

The associative property states that you can add or multiply irrespective of how the numbers are grouped. By using the word 'grouped' we mean 'how we use parenthesis'. In other words, if we are adding or multiplying it does not matter where we put the parenthesis. We can add some parenthesis any where we like!!!!!
