The layer of air above the earth is called atmosphere. The air in our atmosphere extends upto 300 kilometres above the surface of Earth.

There is no exact place where earth's atmosphere ends and space begins. Nitrogen and oxygen are by far the most common; dry air is composed of about 78% nitrogen (N2) and about 21% oxygen (O2). Argon, carbon dioxide (CO2),The permanent gases whose percentages do not change from day to day are nitrogen, oxygen and argon. Nitrogen accounts for 78% of the atmosphere, oxygen 21% and argon 0.9%.
