the pressure exerted by air on the earth's surface is called atmospheric pressure. it's value is 100,000 Pa.

due to atmospheric pressure of 100,000 Pa,every 1 m2 of the surface of any object experiences a force of 100,000 N which roughly equal to 10 tonnes of force. however we do not experience such a force.

example- lift pump work on the principle of atmospheric pressure, on higher altitude fountain pen starts leaking, lizards stick to the wall because atmospheric pressure.
