Blanket of gases which surrounds earth is known as atmosphere.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. Argon, carbon dioxide, and many other gases are also present in the atmosphere.
- Atmosphere protect us by absorbing ultraviolet solar radiation.
- Human takes oxygen and releases carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
- The process of respiration divided into four parts: external respiration, transportation of gases, internal respiration and cellular respiration.
- External respiration divided into breathing and exchange of gases.
- An adult breath approximately 16 to 20 times in a minute.
- Anaerobic respiration and aerobic respiration are the types of cellular respiration.

An atmosphere is a layer of gas or layers of gases that envelope a planet, and is held in place by the gravity of the planetary body. A planet retains an atmosphere when the gravity is great and the temperature of the atmosphere is low.
